Two public exhibition/consultation events took place at the Nantgarw campus of Coleg Morgannwg on Wednesday 18th November to gauge the views of local residents, businesses and politicians on the college’s proposed developments for a new campus at Nantgarw.
Over 400 residents were invited to the evening session, with representatives from The Senior Management Team including Judith Evans, Principal/Chief Executive and Gardiner & Theobald Consultants; 100 local businesses, M.P.’s, A.M’s and Local Councillors were also invited to an earlier session to discuss their views with the Principal and architects.
The events provided the local people with a brief presentation, the opportunity to view the concept drawings on display and detailed information on boards.
Judith Evans said: “It is important that we involve the local community at this stage to listen to their views and address any concerns they may have”.
The new Campus is expected to be opened in September 2012 and will provide a vibrant learning environment for education and training and will also include facilities for general community use i.e. Creche, Training Restaurant, Hair & Beauty salons, Conference/Meeting facilities and a Learning Resource Centre. |
