Skills for Lifelong Learning forms part of the College's commitment to Lifelong Learning and serving the general education and training needs of the communities of Aberdare, Rhondda and Taff Ely.
The aims of the unit are:
- to develop accredited vocational courses in the community, in partnership with local groups, which offer progression routes into mainstream college provision, may that be delivered in the community or at a main college campus.
- To meet the Basic Skills needs of RCT.
All provision is delivered in an informal manner, aimed at breaking down barriers to returning to education and training by providing crèche facilities, free courses (in the main) and opportunities for progression. Increasing an individuals confidence is a primary objective.
